Privacy Policy

The short version: Caliper is built privacy-first. The app does not collect your data or documents — everything you open, mark up, and measure stays on your Mac. We run no servers that receive your files, we have no user accounts, and the app contains no advertising or third-party tracking.

1. Who we are

Caliper (the “app”) is developed and published by Caliper App LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a Colorado limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Caliper application and this website (the “Site”). Questions? Email support@caliperapp.co.

2. Information the app does not collect

When you use Caliper, your PDFs, annotations, measurements, scale calibrations, and custom stamps are stored locally on your device and in storage you control. We do not transmit, receive, or store any of this content. Caliper performs all document processing on your Mac.

3. Information processed by Apple and the App Store

Caliper is distributed through the Apple Mac App Store. When you download, purchase, or update Caliper:

Apple processes the transaction and your payment. We never receive your name, address, or payment details.
Apple provides us with aggregate, anonymized statistics through App Store Connect (for example, download counts, territories, and app-version adoption). This information does not identify you.
If you choose to share diagnostics with developers in your macOS settings, Apple may provide us anonymized crash and energy logs to help us fix bugs. You control this, and the logs are not used to identify you.

Your use of the App Store is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

4. No telemetry in the app

Caliper itself includes no analytics, telemetry, or “phone-home” behavior, and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. On-device features such as Auto-Scale OCR run entirely on your Mac using Apple’s Vision framework; no image or document data is sent anywhere.

5. This website

Our Site is informational. Our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operation, as is typical of web servers. We do not use this to identify you. If we later add analytics or a contact form, we will update this policy and describe what is collected. The Site does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Children’s privacy

Caliper is a professional tool intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your privacy rights

Because we do not collect personal information through the app, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. If you are in a jurisdiction with privacy rights — such as the EEA or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA — and you believe we hold information about you, contact us at support@caliperapp.co and we will respond as required by law. We do not sell or share personal information.

8. International users

Caliper App LLC is based in the United States. Because the app processes your content locally on your device, that content is not transferred to us. The Site is operated from the United States.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, noted on the Site.
